Use of "ghana" in search queries
Avoid using "ghana" in your search terms because everything in the engine is about or in Ghana. Doing otherwise will limit your search results. We try as much as possible to remove "ghana" in all site search parameters to be fair to the ranking process. For example, try these two searches " ghana hotels" and just "hotels" or "hotel" and compare the results output.

Use of locations and local towns in search queries
We will encourage you to use locations and local towns in ghana for specific searches. This will produce more refined search queries. eg "osu hotel" will rank hotels in osu high. This being a useful feature, please note that we have not classified all information with their locations yet but be assured that we are doing this.

Use of just local towns in search queries
You can just search a town names in Ghana. This will display any information which is linked to that town. For example you can just do a wild search on "kumasi" Your search results depends on whether we have linked that resource with the town or locality you searched. However be assured that we are still in the process of doing this.

Use of "or" in search queries
Ghana Portal search engine recognises "or" searches. For example, searching "kumasi accra" and "kumasi or accra" will give you different results. the former will give you resources linked to kumasi and accra together. That is to say it considers the combination. The results will be different from searching for only kumasi or only accra. The latter will produce combined results as if you had searched for kumasi and accra separately.
